This is in response to the shrill Republican obsession with Benghazi (treating it like a scandal to beat Hillary or the president up with). Look, no one is minimizing the deaths of the four courageous Americans who died at Benghazi, or the need for funding of embassy security, and so forth. But tragedies have occurred in other times and other places -- for example during the Bush years. Dont be so high and mighty about it. These things can and do occur, regardless of whose reign of terror it is (a rhetorical expression, thats all). I dont knock the concern that we look into how it happened and how do we prevent a recurrence. Obviously we need to do this. But how are these full blown hearings anything but grandstanding, more Republican blame-it-on-the-President stuff? If you want to do the finger-pointing and blame-game, hey, we can do that, too.
