This is interesting and reminds me of an article I wrote a few years ago about Accidental Information . I had begun to realize what we lose by not having a newspaper to read through as although we may be interested in certain stories by scanning a page we would find other information that catches your attention and so get information accidentally and learn something new.... but the internet has changed that we go on and search for the specific stuff and filter out what may have given us new perspective. This article demonstrates it goes even further than I thought and I have noticed the issues brought out about Facebook and other searches in Google etc. at any rate there is a book, available on Amazon - The Filter Bubble: How the New Personalized Web Is Changing What We Read and How We Think Author: Eli Pariser I dont how to change this, but I believe it is not a good thing for furthering the intelligence and rational thinking of us humans.
