Thenardier’s demanded $28 when Cosette was “sick”. -Cosette’s dress was sold for $12. -Jean Valjean spent $200,000 on recovering the town, and had about $600,000 to his name. -Cosette’s skirt cost $2, and stockings were $1. -Jean Valjean sent the Thenardier’s $120 to pay Fantine’s debt. -Thenardier was $300 in debt, which Jean Valjean paid in exchange for Cosette. -Thenardier’s inn costs: $4 a room, .60c a dinner, $1 a candle. -Marius left home with $6 and was down to $3 when he eventually moved in with Courf.
