This is it. The moment youve all been waiting for. My Super Bowl - TopicsExpress

This is it. The moment youve all been waiting for. My Super Bowl XLVIII prediction! This is just the 2nd time I have done this, so here we go. Super Bowl XLVIII we feature the Seattle Seahawks vs the Denver Broncos. The two teams my gut told me to pick at the beginning of the season, but I did not choose. I chose the Atlanta Falcons vs the Cincinnati Bengals and I stand by that selection. Its the #1 offense vs the #1 defense in this clash of NFL titans. The Broncos have been nothing but spectacular all season. They will forever be known as the greatest scoring offense in NFL history. Peyton Manning has broken records for the most pass yards in a season (5,477) formally owned by Drew Brees, and the most pass TDs in a season (55) formally owned by Tom Brady. No one on either team will be more important then Peyton Manning. Thanks to the best offensive line this season, Peyton was the least sacked QB and got the ball out quicker than any other QB. Will the weather have an effect on his passing? Will the Seattle D line be as disruptive as its been all season? We will have to wait and see. Then you have D. Thomas, Decker, Welker, and J. Thomas who all have 10+ TDs. First time ever in NFL history a team has had 4 players with those numbers. Now lets include Knowshawn Moreno and Monte Ball running the ball. Moreno really rebounded this year with a Pro Bowl worthy season, and Ball has shown he can carry the rock when called upon. The Denver defense is no slouch with players like Terrance Knighton (a.k.a. Pot Roast), Shaun Phillips, and Elvis Dumervil that can match up with Seattle O line. Duke Ihenacho and Danny Trevathan are two under rated LBs whose names you will know by the end of this game. And then the Denver secondary can defiantly disrupt Wilson with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, David Bruton, and Champ Bailey. Everyone is undermining the Broncos defense and it could just be key to opening the victory door. The Seattle Seahawks are more than deserving of their second Super Bowl appearance. Heres a team that was a sleeper at the beginning, and a no doubt contender at the end. A true David smothering many goliaths then nailed with radiation and turning into the Hulk. Russell Wilson is going to be the draft gem of the century. Best 3rd round pick ever. People call him a game manager, the second thought on the offense behind Marshawn Lynch, and not capable of carrying the offense when the run game is stopped. He has proven all this wrong. As a Rams fan it pisses me off how good he has become in such a short time. The skittles beast known as Marshawn Lynch has yet to be contained and tranquillized this season. Only once by your own St. Louis Rams was he almost shut down with 27yards and a TD, but Wilson still got it done through the air. 1257 rush yards and 12 TDs may sound average but its the way he gets it done that makes him so special. No RB in the NFL runs with so much anger and ferocity like Marshawn does. It will be the Broncos main focus to shut down Beast Mode. The WRs are going to have to step up big to keep Denver on its toes. Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, and the return of Percy Harvin will have to play a major roll if the Seahawks want to take home the title. Now its time to break down the Seattle defense. In 2013, the Seahawks allowed a league-low 14.4 points per game which is 6th in the NFL since 2004, and ranked 1st this season. Seattle also led the league in fewest yards allowed with just under 275 per game, led the league in lowest opposing passer rating with 63.4, fewest yards per play at 4.42, fewest 20-yard plays allowed with 36 and most takeaways with 39. Richard Sherman is obliviously the player that will be highlighted the most, but he is just one member of the Legion Of Boom to watch. Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Byron Maxwell are going bring the boom on those Denver WRs, as well as have their hand in stopping the running game. The Seahawks D line is going to have to be in Peytons face all day to slow down the Omahas! Chris Clemons, Michael Bennett, and Bruce Irvin are capable of doing so. The Linebacking core led by Bobby Wagner are going to have it the hardest Sunday with the bourdon of watching Peyton and containing Moreno and Ball. (P.S. - I think the Seattle defense gets a saftey) So who am I taking??? The Seattle Seahawks are going to be Super Bowl XLVIII Champions. This was very hard for me to choose. I went back and forth all week on who I was going to pick. I went with my gut. Nothing would make me happier then to see Peyton get his second ring, but there is just something about this Seattle team that screams destiny. And historically, top ranked offenses have preformed poorly in the Super Bowl. Only your St. Louis Rams had the top ranked offense and won the SB, and they only scored 23 points. I could be totally wrong come Monday with Peyton throwing for 400 yards and 4 TDs, but I just dont see it happening. This Seattle defense is just to damn good to let that happen. Ill keep my prediction short and sweet. 30-26 Seattle Seahawks over the Denver Broncos. My MVP: Russell Wilson 287 pass yards 1 TD, 45 rush yards 1 rushing TD. My X-Factor is Doug Baldwin. Enjoy the game. Probably going to be another one for the ages.
