This is just my opinion but I think this race thing is going too far. James Bond is white and has always been white. Why would a black actor want to play a part of someone who has historically been white for decades? Dont get me wrong as I think Washington is a great actor but come on now, what is next? A movie about George Washington being played by a black actor? There is no reason to make James Bond black and Washington is trying to play the race card here and mark my word if he is turned down for the role he will play the race card. I have seen every 007 movie and wont watch one with a black actor playing Bond. What next, a movie about Martin Luther King being played by a white person?
