This is like a theme song for a lot of the thinking about Sprague and Lamont that Ive seen on Facebook recently. One thing that makes the past different from today is that the sense of belonging to a community has faded. The only way to change that is for people to work together the way they did a couple generations ago. So many have become jaded from modern, so-called first world problems that theyve lost the optimism our grandparents had in the post-WWII era. Its time to take ownership of the situation and the best way to do that is to get involved in organizations and work for improvements. Both Sprague and Lamont are almost always looking for people to help at the council level, the school board, as well as nonprofit groups like Sprague Horizons. Hint, hint. Things dont have to remain as they are, we can change them, but it takes a group effort. All of these groups need people to volunteer. Will you accept the challenge?
