This is lucky, a 9 week old (approximate), fluffy black female - TopicsExpress

This is lucky, a 9 week old (approximate), fluffy black female (with a little white under her chin). I rescued her about 4 weeks ago. She was between 5-6 weeks old when I found her, and in really bad shape. We didnt know if she would survive. I took her to Pinkerton Vet right away, and with their help, she is well now. There is a catch, when at Pinkerton, Lucky was tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV (kitty aids). She was negative for Leukemia but had a slight positive for FIV. Cats with FIV can live a long, happy, healthy life with proper care. She needs to be kept inside due to a weakened immune system. FIV does NOT transfer to people or other animals, only to other cats through saliva. Lucky has been around dogs, we own 4, and gets along great with our lab. If she could be with other cats, I would keep her in our barn with our other kitties, but that is not possible. She cant stay with us due to having working dogs. My one border collie doesnt have an off switch; she tries to heard Lucky throughout the house. So we have to keep Journey, our border collie, locked in a separate room, away from the family when shes in. Journey is getting stressed to the point of losing hair. She will just sit and shake if she can see the kitty. Lucky will come with two litter boxes, cat litter, cat food, and her favorite toy. She has yet to be vaccinated because she was still getting over her sickness, but Im willing to help out with the next few vet appointments. If someone doesnt take her soon, we will have to put her down. This breaks my heart; Ive grown quite attached, to her. But we dont have the space for a house cat, and it wouldnt be fair to Journey, our dog.
