This is me next to a scultured engraving (or whatever youd call it) of the former Bishop of Liverpool, David Sheppard. You may be wondering why I should post it here. (You are, arent you - I can tell youre dying to ask.). Well, I met him years ago when I was a choirboy (I think we were having a new vicar inducted) and had a chat with him in the church hall afterwards. Did I engage him in discussion about the church or the Irish problem or the Popes visit or even cricket (he was a former cricketer) ? No !! I asked him if he liked Gilbert and Sullivan. Sad to say I forget his reply but it must have been favourable or else Id still be holding it against him to this day.
