This is more than just further evidence of an obvious police state, where socialist make-work like military service and policing is exalted in spite of the harm it does to society. Almost every single one of these prisoners is there for political gain, not because he harmed anyone or society at large. It is the laws we enforce and the people who choose to enforce them that are immoral. This is a stark reflection of the balance upon which the future of our nation hinges.
