This is mostly a Hypsophrys nicaraguensis father chewing food for his fry. Hes completely taken over the mothers job, and she is not happy about it as you can see at about 7:15. These are the closest to full size Ive found on YouTube. Males can reach 10 inches, and females 8. Females are usually much more colorful than this one. Theyre usually fairly docile as cichlids go, but they can take care of themselves when necessary. Like other cichlids, they are extremely protective of their nest and young during breeding time. Other fish had better have enough room to not get into their space. Hypsophrys is the most closely related genus to Parachromis.
