This is my comment I added to the petition: There is an overwhelming need for people to be able to grow their own medication for several reasons. 1) economically sound. People simply do not have the funds available to pay for the quantitys of medication they require by way of the LP market set up by Health Canada. The current cost for a prescription of 5 grams a day is over $10 a gram, thats $50 a day, $1,500 a month, which is far above some peoples entire monthly income, thereby making it unsustainable. 2) Freshness of Product Many are using their Cannabis medicinally by eating and Juicing the raw Cannabis leaves and flowers, Health Canada only allows for Dry product sales, thereby making it impossible to utilize this form of ingestion. 3) There simply are not enough LPs to supply the Country Within the structure of the Legal Cannabis market, Health Canada has only allowed 13 LPs to supply an entire Country, most are no longer taking on new patients and have lengthy wait lists. Those that are taking on patients, have inferior product availability. 4) Its a Plant We are talking about a plant here, nature grown. When government becomes involved in regulated Nature and holistic medication for profit, we are all in trouble. I conclude with this statement & question, Why does it bother so many people, that My Natural choice for medication, makes me feel Good as a side effect, instead of sicker?
