This is my fathers view of me that he wrote in our book, A Lifes Work; Fathers and Sons: My first hope for you eighteen years from today would be that you are as alive add as well and as loved as you are today. If you have made it, what a lucky man I will be. You have already enriched my life beyond - way beyond - expectations. If I didnt make it, no grief please. Remember me as you remember and value your friends, and go hard for a life that honors you, me and them. You have already shown me, and your wonderful mother, that you can triumph and that you want to triumph. Thats a big edge. Somewhere along the way I have learned to treasure this saying from the Jewish fathers: Love work, hate dominations, and dont get too close to the ruling class. Its yours. And so is my love and admiration.
