This is my favorite version of a great song. This version of Willin by Lowell George was recorded on Little Feats first album and it features the raw simplicity of Georges voice accompanied solely on guitar by Ry Cooder. There were several later versions by the band and innumerable covers but something about the rawness on this one appeals to my heart. The song speaks to me that no matter where you take yourself on lifes journey and no matter what experiences you create that all you really need to keep moving forward is to be willin. And thats not an easy task to remember all the time. Enjoy! Willin Little Feat (1971) I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow Im drunk and dirty dont ya know, and Im still, oh Im still Out on the road late at night, I seen my pretty Alice in every head light Alice, Dallas Alice Ive been from Tuscon to Tucumcari Tehachapi to Tonapah Driven every kind of rig thats ever been made Now I driven the back roads so I wouldnt get weighed And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine and you show me a sign Ill be willin, to be movin Now I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico, and Im still And Ive been kicked be the wind, robbed by the sleet Had my head stoved in and Im still on my feet and Im willin, oh Im willin And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari Tehachapi to Tonapah Driven every kind of rig thats ever been made Driven the back roads so I wouldnt get weighed And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine and then you show me a sign Ill be willin, to be movin
