This is my feedback I sent out to The Tribez developers in regards - TopicsExpress

This is my feedback I sent out to The Tribez developers in regards the the gender inequality of their game. Hopefully, it makes an impact. If you play the game, you should do it, too. Even if you dont play it, you should still do it. I know some of you are saying to yourself, what does it matter? I dont play games here or I dont play that game. The developers are sending out a unfavorable message of gender inequality to the people that play their games specifically this game. They were questioned about it and they answered it vaguely and without concern of the social impact their game is projecting. Pretty much they said when mobile technology catches up, we will do it or at least in their words, they will certainly try to input female villagers in to the general populace. There is no try! Either they will or they will not! Anyways, heres my feedback, hope you gain a little from it. Take what you need of it Hi, Im Rhonda Hall, founder of The Stara Project movement. I love Tribez and play it daily. I know this issue has come up in a Q&A portion about there not being any female tribal villagers, and to be honest, I dont buy the tidbit that mobile technology is to blame for there not being female counterparts to the male villagers. Technology doesnt need to catch up. We as humans need to catch up to what is equally right in the world. I am a gamer, and I play a lot of games. In most games if not all of them except for this game, the game player can choose to be female or male. Its their choice. Women are just as much a part of this world as are men. Im not mad. Im not going to stop playing the game because of this issue. Because of my project to bring awareness to the plight of women around the world for their basic human rights, I am becoming more acutely aware of inequalities even in game apps. Although, I feel the developers had not seen any harm in this simple exclusion, as a company, you are projecting this issue to the gamers who enjoy playing your great games. It is my wish that one day that we have an equally, balanced world. I would suggest that some way...somehow... you find a way to promote tribal women in the general populace. Women are the womb of creation. Be strong, Be Proactive, Be AWARE of the ideas and thoughts that you are bringing to life in your games. We love games and its great entertainment and allows us to escape for a moment in our daily lives. In the Q&A, you answered a question that the woman who had raised concerns about female villagers as to her question being an Unusal and Interesting question. What is Unusal about seeing a woman in the general populace who is working side by side in the fields with men, who is working in the stone pits, who is working in the marble pits, who is tending to the trade stores? There isnt anything unusual about this request at all. When you really look at it, the gamer can be made to believe that the women are in the homes being a servant to her husband, taking care of the children and doing domestic work. Even in developing countries such as Morocco, in the past, women worked side by side with their male counterparts. They still do today. It is my wish that you take this thought more seriously not only with The Tribez game but any game you develop and make sure that there is an equal balance between equality of the gender of characters you promote in each game. Best Regards, Rhonda Hall
