This is my first, last and only Players Pub Face Book Post. To: management, staff, musicians, customers, and “friends” of Players Pub; it is with many mixed emotions that I would like to officially inform you that this afternoon; I sold the business, Players Pub, Inc. I would like to personally thank those of you who have supported the Pub since Greg’s death. The last two years have been the most difficult and challenging time of my life, on many, many levels. To those of you who feel I have veered from Greg’s vision, I am deeply sorry. I can, without a shadow of doubt, say that I knew Greg better than anyone on this earth. I have done my very best to keep the Pub open and running in a manner that would make him proud. I and his family (whose opinions and feelings mean a lot to me) feel I have done that. I could not have done it without the help and support of: Doug Enoch, Connie & Rex, Brent, Mike, and all of the staff. I owe each of them my most heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude. I also owe a special thanks to Larry, Carla, and Sandy, Greg’s siblings, who have given their blessing to all of the tough decisions I have had to make. The Pub was Greg’s dream, not mine. He and I both knew that. We discussed this at length. We felt that I could run the Pub for a couple of years, (and I did!), but neither of us wanted me to do it long term. I know in my heart that selling the business is the right thing for me to do; however, doing the right thing isn’t always easy. The Pub is much more than a business; it is more like a family, as evidenced recently at the fundraiser for Jeannie and Joe. I hope Greg’s vision for a Pub that offers a place for local musicians to call home, serves as a place of healing, plays an active roll in the local community, not only as a local watering hole, but also contributes to the community through supporting local charities and those in need, lives on as Greg’s legacy. My most sincere desire is for the Pub’s continued success. Good Luck to all. Mary M Hill Former owner of Players Pub Eternal Spiritual Partner of Gregory Lynn Hill
