This is my home canned recipe for Bush Baked Beans. I have made three batches and they have not been sweet enough. I am reducing salt in this recipe. ..now they might be toooo sweet. My first venture was using great northern beans because they were available. I love to can and I hated the price of the storebought beans. I dont know if I saved any money but I did have the recreational pleasure of canning my own beans. With my not sweet enough beans I add a little sugar and diced green peppers. They are really good. Dark Karo Syrup gives it the nicer dark color. Recipe is lengthy. It will follow.
