This is my last serenade I feel you as you fall away. This is my last serenade, from yourself you cannot run away.. It amazes me how many songs about relationships gone bad can actually be perceived as a relationship between your higher self and your ego if able to stay open and perceptive. The singer representing you and the partner representing all the things you need to work on in yourself to grow. Partners come and go and give you a chance to see yourself like it or not, youve got yourself in the mirror until the day you depart. The reflection your partners presence shows you is more important to your growth than concerning yourself with their demons and what you perceived they did to you or how you can fix them. I tend to distance from Metal music altogether anymore due to it being full of passive aggressive negativity and theres rarely exception to that, KSE is no exception, but Ive found a way to enjoy this song in particular in recent years because its ability to be interpreted in a different way. It leaves an outlet for aggression and revelation via musical catharsis. Whatever it takes to heal.
