This is my life ---- You all know that we rescue and rehab, and I so wish you all could see what we see.... After weeks of trying to let our Squeaky bird go free, he finally took the plunge yesterday and flew out of the enclosure. We were so HAPPY and yet so sad. Until this morning Our Florida room is ALL windows, and we sit here and I wish I could share the marvel that we see when watching these animals. We watch the momma woodpeckers feeding her babies and the cardinals hop from feeder to feeder and the big bully blue jays come and clear everyone out so they can hog the food... and the squirrels, running up and down the trees and hanging upside down from the feeder. And these animals are all named and 90% of them we raised. We fed the birds every 15 mins for days and days, and the squirrels every three hours day and night for weeks.. and you think..what a thankless job...and it is not. This morning as we watched the squirrels run free and jump and come knocking at our door..we watched as our little Squeaky bird, whom almost died in my hands, came back to say hi. I took pictures of him gathering his food, and watched as JOhn fed him a treat..and then off he flew again.. He has come back over and over this morning..and I am smiling from ear to ear..I KNOW we saved Him, I know he is free and I sure hope he is now happy and free because I spent days and days making sure he ate...he stayed warm..he was loved. Yes this is my life and I would not trade it for a million dollars...
