This is my new bud Robert. Robert is paralyzed from the chest down from a car accident in 2009.I have been following Robert since I saw his pic on the Slater center page, with his trophy from the BAA Marathon. Robert does marathons,..triathalons, etc. ..... just like Jess. Anyway,...something told me to get in touch with him (cough, jess?), theres been a little birdie on my shoulder telling me we need to know each other so I reached out to him and now Im really psyched about it. The kid is a pit bull of desire and inspiration. Finding triathalons,..and this winter,...SKIING (yea,...were gonna have fun with this one),...Robert has found his outlets and has set his goals at the top. I plan to be Roberts biggest supporter. Im telling you all this because he is going places and hes going to need his communitys help to get there and Im the link in between. Jess, Dan and I are going to be rallying for this dude and rallying hard. Get to know him,...tell your kids his story, show them how we support people who lead by example and come out and cheer him on when race day rolls around. In my work with disabled kids and vets Ive learned that these are the souls people need to know. They make the small stuff smaller and recognizable. They make the big things now conquerable.
