This is my rant for the day: Ive been looking on craigslist for a possible playmate for Trigger, not necessarily a Min Pin, but something close. Every single animal on there has a crazy high rehoming fee....to ensure that he/she get a wonderful forever home. How does that ensure anything? Do you think that if I can pay $500 for a mixed breed dog that means Ill never abuse it? BTW...I, personally, would never abuse an animal, but thats not to say that other people who can afford a stupid high rehoming fee, wont. That does not ensure anything. People are now trying to sell cats! That is the craziest thing Ive ever heard. Unless said cat is an Egyptian Mau, a Bengal, Himalayan, or some exotic breed, I AM NOT paying for a cat! So, what Im seeing is that people are getting away with selling animals for an exorbitant amount of money, which is going to encourage people to have mutt puppy mills. I just want to bring another dog into a loving home without spending hundreds of dollars...is that too much to ask? Apparently so. What I really want, my dream dog, is a German Shepherd (a white one), which I will never, ever able to afford...sigh. What happened to those days when people took out ads that said Free to good home. And, spare me the lecture about how folks get dogs to abuse them or fight or use them as bait dogs. I get it. There are crappy people in this world who do those things, but not everyone is like that.
