This is my response to a posting by Christine Massey earlier of her letter to the Toronto city council. I deleted my original comment on her letter and wrote this response which I posted as a comment to her posting. Three times I have requested referral to the legally required toxicology studies through the assistant medical officer of health in the past few years--twice from myself directly and once through my councillor. He still voted to keep fluoridating even though the toxicology studies were not forthcoming. Our criminally charged mayor was asked for toxicology studies and did not produce them and still voted to keep AWF. I spent many hours writing and calling Health Canada, Federal ministry of health, Ontario ministry of health, Ontario ministry of the environment, Chief Dental Officer of Canada, Chief Dental Officer of Ontario, London assistant medical officer of health, Mosaic, (manufacturer of HFSA) Brenntag, (supplier of HFSA) CDC and NSF. NO TOXICOLOGY STUDIES AS LEGALLY REQUIRED ANYWHERE!! Our city engineer, who recommended to council that they vote to continue artificial water fluoridation, told the council that toxicology studies were not required since a 2006 Michigan study using reagent grade HFSA and de-ionized water showed that HFSA dissociated completely. Unfortunately I do not have an engineering degree and it seems to me, dumb as they like to think I am, I think that putting HFSA with its contaminants of lead, arsenic, mercury, radionuclides and more into tap water with its minerals, contaminants of chloramines, sodium hydroxide, pharmaceuticals ,and industrial chemicals could IN NO WAY be considered safe based on the 2006 Michigan study and is absolute stupidity and criminal. Some of us in London, angry that our council voted to keep fluoridating had some tap water tests done requested help from Heather Gingerich, M.Sc, Ph.D student and Medical Geologist, using an open scan with the 2010 Olympic anti-doping technology and found our tap water is unsafe to drink DUE CHEMICAL CONTAMINATION. We found that if there is a lead pipe bringing the water from the street to the house, your water is "dangerously unsafe to drink". The lab we used now refuses to do any more tests and we think it could be because of pressure from the MOE as it is not a MOE registered lab yet it is a licensed lab serving the mining industry where knowing what chemicals are in the water is important. The MOE only allows a citizen to test the tap water for a list of chemicals from the MOE in MOE approved labs and at exorbitant prices citizens cannot afford as Heather explained to us. It looks like they are not interested in “what is in the water” only if what they think may be in the water is there. The truth is ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE VOTING TO PUT A TOXIC WASTE, A POISON, INTO OUR WATER WITHOUT ANY PROOF IT IS SAFE and ARTIFICIAL WATER FLUORIDATION IS UNPROVEN, UNNECESSARY, UNNATURAL AND UNETHICAL AND THE FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS ALLOW IT. WE ARE BEING MASS MEDICATED TO TREAT CAVITIES IN OUR TAP WATER WITHOUT INFORMED CONSENT, DOSE CONTROL OR REGULATION. There is no choice. Yet it has been proven that topical application is effective and providing choice while COF-COF.ca has five Canadian studies showing AWF is not effective. OUR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS ARE DISRESPECTED BY MOST OF THOSE WE UNFORTUNATELY ELECTED. What I think is the most important of all is that the DENTISTS AND DOCTORS TELL THE TRUSTING PUBLIC AND ELECTED OFFICIALS THAT IT IS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE AND UNFORTUNATELY MOST CITIZENS AND MOST ELECTED OFFICIALS DO NOT DO THEIR OWN INQUIRY INTO THE PROCESS TO LEARN THAT THE TRUTH IS EXACTLY OPPOSITE TO WHAT WE ARE TOLD BY GOVERNMENT, DENTISTS AND DOCTORS.
