This is my sister on WKYT news tonight...a man attempted to kidnap her, assaulting her while she was getting in her vehicle last night in the Kroger Parking lot at Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville...she was able to fend him off by fighting back and screaming....it was a busy parking lot and no one came to her assistance-dont know if they heard her or not. She was able to avoid becoming a possible murder/rape victim by acknowledging she was being attacked and reacting immediately! She has been violated in her rightful sense of security in being a lawful citizen simply grocery shopping-this was not in the hood, this was not in a bad area of town, this was in a very decent shopping area that many of you have been at. The assailant attempted to use force to get into the vehicle behind her after attacking her from behind like a typical punk coward criminal, but her reacting and fighting back probably saved her life. DO NOT TAKE FOR GRANTED that this act can not happen anywhere. It takes about 5-10 seconds tops to be successful at this type of crime because most victims react with a shock type of response...DO SOMETHING!!! Scream as loud as you can!! Kick and fight back in some way-these criminals rely on you to be at their mercy and depend on you being suppressive in your reaction. DO SOMETHING if this act was to play out in your life-talk to your new driving kids about safety precautions to take when getting into and out of their vehicles in parking lots/gas stations/hospitals, etc, where you should have a rightful sense of security....it no longer exists in our world so you have to have a plan in mind if you are under attack-thank God my sister Lori Jones decided to not give up in being a victim-although she is a victim of this attack, those several moments at the initial assault were so crucial and she realized that once she accepted this is really happening and its happening now, she reacted! Praise God she reacted against this lowlife POS and his criminal act..now it is more important than ever to stand behind our police force, our law enforcement personnel, because these supporters of lawlessness you see protesting our police have made criminals more brazen and more confident than ever! I thank God Almighty that he protected my sister from this evil act of violence, and I pray he helps her heal from the emotional scars this scum has victimized my sister with-She is a strong person and hopefully her story can help others take off the rose colored glasses of this false sense of security we go about in our daily lives-that sure thing security no longer exists, and I pray each of you are protected in safety-and protect you love ones by educating them on the violent people who are amongst us-sometimes hiding, sometimes smiling and standing behind you in lines, but make no mistake whatsoever-they are there in our communities-support your local law enforcement, for they are the last line of defense we have before complete chaos takes over.....God bless you all, and God bless my sweet and loving sister Lori Jones, I love you dearly!
