This is not a new allegation. The Spirit/Stairway thing has been suggested for years. So I listened to it. A chordal pattern in A minor with a chromatic decending bass. Like no one has ever come up with that idea before. Meh. Jake Holmes had a way more compelling case with Dazed And Confused, where LZ took both the bass motif and the title, though he never sued. Willie Dixon sued over You Need Love, which LZ lifted whole lyrics from to craft Whole Lotta Love. My question would be, why wait 43 years to sue? Randy California never did. Seems kind of pointless now.
