This is not footage that would likely be aired on Cops, those are much more carefully screened for TV. This officer would never have made the cut. Nor, with his immediately offensive attitude, should he have made the cut as an officer of the law. THIS officer makes ME afraid for anyone I know passing through his town... whatever race, whatever age. This officer - and the others one can see on videos online - are not, I believe, typical of law enforcement officers. But we must all acknowledge - in the face of increasing video evidence - we DO have officers like this. And we are not addressing it. Its time for them all to retire... or be retired legally. Lets stay with those who understand that a peace officers first job is public safety... and lets rebuild trust from the ground up, while we still can. Go to your local town council, or publicly open governmental committees, and petition for police reform. There should be no one-man patrols, ever; there should be video cameras, always; there should be stiffer penalties for ANY conviction involving a firearm; and there should be a civilian review board for all police shootings. NOW.
