This is not for a Daily Shot, Letting people know how I took this pic. This post is more for us amateurs. This was taken with a canon 7d, and tamron 18-270mm lens. When I take storm/lightning pics im always judging the current light. To get this pic I had Iso 100 f11 and 13 sec exposure. I was lucky the bolt it in the perfect spot but I had the basics covered, Lightning can blow out the exposure really bad so if you think the bolts will be close enough you really need to look at your exposure. And the biggest thing, Be Careful, Bolts from the Blue do happen and you can never be to careful with lightning. Ive been in a position that lighting struck 10 meters from my car, I was just glad I hadnt got out of it. Your car is the best safety spot. I know a lot of people here are season storm chases but this post is for people that want to give it a go. safety is the up most importance. Good luck and Safe chasing !!! Jason Bull
