This is not surprising with the recent unjustified shooting death last month of unarmed Akai Gurley in Brooklyn... AND of course Eric Garner. There is a segment of society in America which harbors an extreme animosity towards police officers because of an antiquated subculture of a violently abusive and racist based style of policing. Not helping the situation ALSO in the NYC... are the knucklehead supporters and police officers taunting the people with their I can breathe shirts. These fools are asking for it and are no different from the criminals they take to jail. The only thing which can prevent further bloodshed or a potential bloodbath from occurring is for law enforcement agencies to practice what they preach. There are obviously two sets of rules and double standards for officers who kill and for the citizens whom they are entrusted to protect and serve. The US versus THEM ethos must be removed and addressed. Further, the President of the United States of America, must finally address to the racists and angry divisive people of the world, that it is a new day where corrupt cop behavior will no longer be tolerated.
