This is one for not only the athlete but for coaches (and I use both those terms loosely). Dietary and training protocols ARE NOT universal for natural athletes and enhanced athletes. What is suitable, beneficial and appropriate for an enhanced athlete IS NOT going to apply to a natural athlete. Enhanced athletes have the ability to handle higher work loads but also get away with less frequent training sessions for growth (not that its optimal), deal with lower calorie intakes when dieting (typically however they SHOULD be dieting on far higher calories) from a training performance stand point, dont lose much muscle when dieting on idiotic low calories compared to a natural, they have a need for higher protein intakes and fat intakes can be lower than what a natural could diet on etc. While the above is just some general and basic things to note, if you (being natural) or your coach is following a plan that is what a enhanced athlete could manage then you can be assured you will go backwards very quickly in terms of health, training performance and body composition. To add to that I see a number of enhanced athletes, be it on their own accord or their coaches advice with less than beneficial or appropriate protocols IN ALL AREAS. Any many of these are not first timers either. That is extremely concerning. If the majority are doing something it does not mean it is right. Which in the bodybuilding, health and fitness industry is generally a sign that if the vast majority are doing then its possibly far from beneficial.
