This is one if the most brilliant and eloquent perspectives about politics Ive heard. Its many of the same points my rants are infused with, but with a delivery that is just on point! As a country, it is a pure joke to think a document that was created by a group of privileged and entitled White men 225-years ago, when Blacks were property, women were servants (literally and philosophically), and the massive waves of immigrants who would define this country as a intercultural mecca wouldnt occur until some 100+years later. Yet, WE THE PEOPLE feel equitable representation from a document and philosophical underpinning that Today, the U.S. Constitution is the oldest written constitution in operation in the world. So is it fair to equate it metaphorically by saying our dependence on this constitution is the same as buying a 2014 Corvette with a 1926 Model-T engine and tires? Why, as preschoolers we are taught to Pledge Allegiance to a flag and country? Why, if someone says the Lunar Landing, a line gunman and magic bullet killed a US President (whose brain disappeared), and some crazed fanatic assassinated MLK (after he spoke out about govt bullshit and refused to take the million dollars Jessie Jackson ended up getting after MLK was buried) they are considered non-patriotic? And lets not being in the lunacy of 911... Does democracy exist? Hell no! Democracy is bottom-up, not top-down. #This was my long overdue rant ... Now back to scholarly writing;)
