This is one of my favorite shows. I used to tell my Nani she was a Golden Girl..:-) My auntie Gyda Hasenauer too.. The message is very true though. Just because there is a PhD or an MD or whatever behind the name a clinician needs to possess one very important thing.... Compassion... Ive had my share of Clinicians say I had the Easy CANCER. There is no Easy Cancer, nothing easy about any type is easy at all. Im very grateful to have had the opportunity several times to speak with students about my illness and medical treatment, plans, etc because of a dear friend Linda Ivette Davis. It gave the students a chance to see a patient, as a person and see the impact that a good relationship or bad relationship medically could have. Compassion is something that goes a long way in everything we do. Whether we are doctors, teachers, scoutmasters, managers, no matter who we are. Goodness I could go on and on but I will spare you.:-) My cancer journey is ongoing and will be a lifelong one. I have a survivor/warrior family that I pray for daily and their families because its hard on everyone involved. Im grateful for the clinicians I have and several Ive had in the past, they possessed much compassion. It helped get me to where I am now with my health. Just remember a little compassion goes a long way.. Okay stepping off my soap box for now..:-)
