This is one of my favorites of 2017 taken July 7th 14. We were treated to quite a light show here in mid-Michigan and 4 inches of rain to go with it. However most of the lightning was cloud to cloud with just a hand full of cloud to ground strikes. When the rain had stopped I stepped out of my barn where I usually shoot from for protection of both my equipment and myself. I had just set my camera up for a test shot when this strike hit about a half mile from me. I post processed this image as a HDR to bring out some of the cloud detail. Shot settings were 15 seconds f/10 ISO 200, shot in RAW.
