This is one of my high school lifters. I had an idea about how to mimic a Pause Bench or Squat, but in the Deadlift. So as you see he starts from a deficit, but on the subsequent reps he will Pause a couple inches off the floor. Thus Increasing his Time Under Tension. I havent seen anyone else try this before. Maybe someone has, I just have not seen it. So let me know if you have seen this before. The Goal was to develope an increase in LEG DRIVE out of the whole. After several sets of 5reps @ 55% of 1RM, my student (Matt Sanders), stated he felt much greater Leg Drive and an increase in pump on his Posterior Chain. He also stated as he progressed in sets, the movement became Easier/Faster even though fatigue was setting in. I would like to hear anyone elses thoughts thoughts this. Good or Bad idea? Any and all constructive critiques/ comments welcome.
