This is one of my most favorite lapidary videos on Youtube. I always find myself coming back to it just to see that beautiful opal. And no, the man in the video is NOT me. As some of you may know, I am a lapidarist. A lapidarist is someone who cuts and polishes gemstones. Its one of the most relaxing and rewarding parts of my job -- that is, before I finished college, came back home and found myself without the necessary equipment to continue cutting gemstones. Like usual, I was one of the only people in the college jewellery program to actually like lapidary, as most people found it difficult. The professors were always eager to see what I would cut next, as the prospects of someone who excelled in so many areas of this industry excited them to no end. Suffice to say, they made it clear to me that they expect more from me than from the other students, and I did not disappoint. I really do miss lapidary. As a matter of fact, I have dozens of gemstones that I cut while I was in college, on display in my shop, including the first stone I ever cut - a red jasper - for the purpose of making jewellery pieces for clients. I have done many such pieces over the past 2 years. I would like to provide the lapidary service in the future, when I can finally procure the equipment. -Joe youtube/watch?v=sXyBuamNl68 _______________________________________________________ #Windsor #windsorontario #windsorcanada #windsorontariocanada #downtownwindsor #dtwindsor #hard #work #appreciation #service #levant #jewellery #levantjewellery #gold #silver #ring #ammolite #gemstone #October #excellence #repair #happy #customer #happycustomer #celebrate #love #lapidary #gemstone #opal #beautiful
