This is one reason why I will not attend unsanctioned shows. I am often confused of playing politics and being uncooperative when I ignore invites to self branded self regulated shows, however this is a sport that needs, in fact has to have regulation and some minimum standards and I wont risk my fighters on these events. Very often these events are run by well meaning people, people that I possibly respect but I wont go to them. I want to see the initials of a respected international body attached to any event that I attend, one that I can contact or just check on their website to see what rules and regulations they have and that have a track record of supervising fight events for many years. That I believe is the duty of care I need to show any fighter I look after. This sad event explains why.
