This is our senior boy Gus - he lived his first 8 years on a heavy chain in Georgia, emaciated, covered in fleas and ticks and was then dropped off at a high kill shelter. His teeth are literally ground down to nubs as he tried to free himself from his chain. He was in a prison project for months once he left the shelter and he completely came out of his shell, played with his new dog friends and became a beloved member of the prison pack. After a few months with his new adopter Gus began resource guarding his owner and going after the resident dog when she was in the room. The adopters are now returning him to the prison. We dont know if hes good with cats or children, we only know what WE know and that is he was an obedient boy at the prison, played with other dogs and followed direction. Like many shelter dogs, he needs a foster or adopter who is either experienced or willing to work with a trainer if Gus begins to act out. Please will you help us share this boy home? Thank you!
