This is part of Article 26 of the United Nations Universal - TopicsExpress

This is part of Article 26 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Im sure it was drafted by people with good intentions, but it is utter nonsense and self-contradictory. Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory... As Ive said before, no genuine human right can require the services of other humans. That necessarily denies real rights to those who provide this spurious right. It is a conflict of rights. Certainly one has the right to pursue and acquire knowledge, but no one has an innate right to an education because an education must be provided by others, and therefore my right to an education would conflict with the right of an educator to deny me his services. Any right that places another under an obligation to provide it is no right at all. Education cannot possibly be free. It may be made free to the recipient, but it necessitates a cost on the part of someone. The irony here is that one is placed under compulsion to benefit from the right to an education. What kind of a right is that? Its a right given to children that simultaneously denies them (and their guardians) the right to self-determination and basic liberty.
