This is part of a disturbing trend that is becoming apparent - The attempt to outlaw La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul AllahMany will have encountered this here on Facebook, personally I have had a few photos deleted from my page with the claim that they contravene Facebooks policies regarding violence etc. All that was posted of course was a black flag with the words La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah (there is no god but Allah [and] Muhammad is Allahs Messenger), which are dear to every Muslim and form the basis of our Religion. How could such a flag be banned, what is it that is contravening their laws? Is it the black colour? No.. Is it the white circle? Nope.. If its not those 2 parts of the flag, then there is nothing left except - La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah - that is what they are trying to ban. Even versions of the flag that contain nothing but the text (ie. without the white circle) have been banned, showing even further that it is what is written on the flag that has made it banned.Need more proof? Take a look at my cover photo on this page. It is my name written in Arabic, its also imposed over a black background with text in white, written in Arabic, exactly like the images of La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah, so why is it that La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah is banned but my name is not? It is because they are not banning the colours of the images, nor the designs, but rather they are banning the very words that every Muslim loves, that we call out from our masjids 5 times a day, that we hope are the last words that we utter before we return to our Lord. One could write anything that they wish in black and white, however it will only be banned when it says La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah. Now some weak-minded folk may try to argue that it is only when the design of the flag happens to match that of terrorist organisations that it is being banned, after all they may try and argue that we cannot have people using symbols and logos of such groups that are a threat to society (ie. a threat to the kuffar). To this there is a simple response -The flags that are being banned are Islamic flags that is used by Muslims all over the world, it just so happens that certain groups which the USA et al. consider to be terrorist organisations also use the flags out of their love for them and the fact that they represent Islam. The flags are Islamic, the flag mentioned in the article specifically copies its design from the seal of the Prophet, shall we then argue that the design which was made 1,400 years ago was designed by a terrorist organisation?! To ban this flag would be like arguing that if any terrorist group adopts the British Union Jack, then the Union Jack will be banned due to its link to such groups. The logic is absurd, the flag itself predates the groups using it, and the design on the flag is 1,400 years old and is a venerated symbol used and respected by all Muslims. On one hand we should not be surprised that the words La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah are still so powerful and are the basis of distinguishing the 2 camps in this world. It is no surprise that just as the words were controversial to the disbelievers of Makkah who fought those who uttered them would still remain controversial today to those who reject them. However, that does not mean that we should not stand up and fight for our right to raise high the words of Islam, and to do so with pride and without fear of those who wish to erase them from society. We as Muslims must stand up to this attempt to ban this symbol of Islam. We must speak out against the oppression of those who seek to remove these blessed words from us, be it on Facebook, in the streets, in our mosques or even our homes. La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah is NOT illegal and is NOT something that we will remove out of fear of anyone, rather we will die before we allow them to take them from us.I believe that it is time that we began a campaign to show Facebook and others that we will not allow them to continue banning and removing La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah, and that the flags which bear it upon them are flags of all Muslims and we will not accept that they be removed for these absurd reasons trying to link them to some malevolent cause or conspiracy.Displaying La ilaha illa Allah Muhammadu Rasul Allah is NOT a crime.
