This is quite lengthy but I think it is worth reading. I beg your tolerance as you read this article in its entirety: Anyone who knows my family knows that we are a family full of BIG love and when we love, we love hard and we love sooooooooooo deep! At times too deep, as Ive often questioned. We have such compassion that often times others cant relate or even begin to understand the enormity of our love and compassion. Weve even been called fools, literally at times for these attributes...lol; Seriously. But, I thank God that my mother taught and not only taught, but, exemplified and demonstrated this type of love and compassion for us to model. Where am I going with this? Well...................... My niece Shontorria Fann has demonstrated what I called the ULTIMATE requirement and commandment from God, and that is to LOVE. You see, a few weeks ago she met and has been the care-giver of this woman name Mrs. G. Torria has gone beyond the call of her duty as a professional care-giver. She has spent personal time with this lady and her family. She has gone in the middle of the night just to be at Mrs. G’s side because she wanted her there. On Torria’s weekends off she and her husband has stopped by just so that she could let Ms. G know that she was concern for her and also to encourage and comfort Ms. G’s husband. (BTW, you got to have a special kind of man to understand this type of love and commitment, so Kudos to Antwain Fann who has supported Torria and has been right there with her). I can go on and on about what all Torria has done to make this beautiful woman final days here on earth special. But, of all the things that she has done, she has shown such colossal LOVE, PATIENCE, and COMPASSION. Not only has she shown love, but, she has fallen in love with Mrs. G and her family to the point of grieving along with them during this time of transition. Mrs. G is in her final transitional phase now and she has shared with both her family and with Torria the beautiful heavenly things she’s seen e.g., Heavenly Angels, Jesus HIMSELF, etc. However, her most powerful and beautiful expression has been to express gratitude to Shontorria for taking such good care of her and making these last few weeks more bearable. In my opinion, Mrs. G has sealed God’s stamp of approval by simply telling Shontorria “THANK YOU.” Can you even imagine having a stranger express such love and gratitude to you only having known you for a few weeks and to tell you that they LOVE YOU? And, just as importantly; have you ever cared and loved a stranger in this special way only having known them for a few weeks? FB Family, we can talk love all day long but it doesn’t mean a thing if it isn’t shown. And when I say shown; I’m not talking about to the ones who have given us reasons to THANK THEM or LOVE THEM. However, I’m speaking of when you can exhibit such love to a person whom you’ve only known for a few weeks and TRULY mean it from the depth of your heart. My family and I have never met Mrs. G but we have cried with Torria because we feel her hurt. We have cried because of the love that we have for a woman we’ve never seen. And, when that time comes, we will be right there at the services with Shontorria and Mrs. G’s family because that’s what we do. At the end of the day, this is the type of LOVE that God speaks of. We can talk LOVE all day, but God wants US to genuinely SHOW IT!!!
