This is rather a gruesome drawing but so is much of historic and present war. The whole painting as, you can see, is too small on here to show detail so I split it into three parts to show a bit more detail. below is what the Denver Public Library had about this drawing. Condition: Print is torn.; Formerly F27845.; Title, numbered identification: 1. Fort Phill Kearny Massacre of Col C. 2nd. Cavalry, Dec. 21, 1866; 2. Stone Creek ford. We found the bodies of detail; 3. Guide Goose Neck Creek; 4. Hollidays Coach Road; 5. Monument, mark, site; 6. Only horse left C. C. and this picture drawn in colors was done by John Gutherie, Co. C. 2nd Cav. 1865 to 1868, an eye witness of the tragedy. A guide card and a typed manuscript of six pages accompanies this picture.
