This is really a family video taken around the bay at different locations during the late 60s and very early 70s. The quality is what you would expect from 8mm film and some of it I have used in other videos but some of you may find it interesting to see some old footage of the bay. The Salamander Hotel before the failed attempt at increasing its height. Nelson Bay beach with the old canoe hire, Lilly Hill Lookout and the old dirt road up to it. The scene with the man in the RAAF uniform was my father just before he was deployed to Vietnam. That house was in Thurlow Ave hence the views of dutchies etc. The old house where the Marina Resort now stands was also where we lived it was called Green Gables and the Bagnalls lived in the apartment below us there.
