This is really interesting. For many years now Ive had this secret, very passionate, dream of growing into a fabulous old crone. And, yes, I too use that word and find great mystery and even majesty in what the crone idea projects, something which I feel should be honored. I dream of growing very old with deep craggy wrinkles something my genes suggest I should be able to manage as my great grandmother almost made it to 103. I want to be that old lady who eats from her own garden until the day she dies, is tough as nails, but has that magical life-joy glimmer in her eye. You look at these women in their profound wisdom and you know they are intimate with every aspect of life... hardship, adventure, joy, sorrow, magic, mystery, and the miraculous; everything in between and things I havent even thought of. Yes, that is who I want to become, weathered, worn, but still deeply in touch with wonder. Its interesting to see someone else in the same thought process, especially because as she says, we live in a culture that glorifies the young rather than respecting the aged and those who age with grace. There it is folks, now you know one of my deepest and most vibrant desires, whether you wanted to or not. Have a beautiful day my friends!!
