This is ridiculous!! This will reduce the police force to only 8 full time officers. There is only one Drug Task Force in the county sheriffs dept consisting of only TWO people. Not only a Public safety issue, but a safety issue for the officers on the ground. the status of the fund balance, which is tied to loans made to the village’s utility, Bath Electric, Gas and Water Systems. And, where did the 11 MILLION Dollars go>> the price Steuben County Health Care Facility (Infirmary) was sold for?? Not all that money went to back debt. Legislators said the sale would do away with an operational annual deficit of $2 million to $3 million! The County no longer has the 100+ Infirmary employees on the payroll, nor the benefits they provided for these workers>> So there MUST be enough $$ to pay these two officers to provide public safety!!!!
