This is so sad! Bella is STILL searching for a new home, but is becoming more traumatised as time and viewings go on. Shes restarted her walks with me again, and was hardly recognisable as the same scatty girl, when we met up on Monday. She was completely aloof with me, as opposed to the giddy, lunatic who used to throw herself into my arms, on each meeting. When the other dogs went near her, she snapped at them in a way shed never done before. It was heart-breaking to see this big, daft, lurcher transformed into such an anxious, unhappy, intolerant dog. Thankfully, after 15 minutes, she seemed to remember the fun times we used to have, and began to trust me again. She started running with the other dogs, and fetching my sticks back, barking for me to rethrow them. If she can do this after half an hour, I know she can become the dog she used to be. But she needs a new stable environment to live in. Someone who will love her for all her legginess, who will walk her daily and tell her how wonderful she is. Shes fine to be left for short periods of time, and shes good in the home, and responsive to the recall. Shes lived with cats, but shouldnt be rehomed with another dog. Shes 10 years old, but still incredibly young at heart. She lives in the Leeds area of West Yorkshire. Please try and help her find a new home xxx
