This is so true. Every word, every story. It really is like this. Ive dealt with it for almost six years now. BREAK THE STIGMA. MENTAL ILLNESS IS A DISEASE AND SUICIDE IS THE RESULT. No more shamming the dead. Theyre gone, and we cant change that. But we CAN change the living. Did you know that for young people 15-24 years old, suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death? Did you know that it is estimated that there are at least 4.5 million survivors in this country? On a day to day basis an average of one person dies by suicide every 13.3 minutes. This is a leading epidemic that our country is blind to because of the religious stigmas weve set.
