This is something my sister Lesli Alexander wrote for her school project. So proud!!!! If yall like it comment on it and let her know :) Spina bifida is a deformity in the spinal cord. Spina bifida can cause problems in the lower extremities. Hydrocephalus is water in the brain. Mothers should take folic acid when your pregnant. Doctors should check mothers and the babies to make sure they are ok. March of dimes and other companies try to find a cure for this. I was born with this illness and I wish that someday I would walk and that people should understand more about this condition and how babies deal with this disability. Spina bifida isnt fun to have. I hope that maybe people dont judge kids with spina bifida on their appearance and for what they have to go through physically,emotionally and mentally. Some kids with this can also have scoliosis and mental retardation. If somebody ever bully somebody with this you should never be afraid to tell somebody. And you can also go to centers like Easter seals and more. Im wearing a yellow ribbon that is for spina bifida awareness.
