This is something that is emotional to those of us who love Track and Field and Cross Country (from middle school to the Olympics). Frankly, Ive always looked at this issue as one where collegiate ADs couldnt find the balls to make tough decisions, took the easy-out, and eliminated a sport that was proven to be the most equitable gender-wise and then went on to blame Title IX for it (just ask the women who trained at the same time, same place, and with the same emotional and financial commitments from the schools that they were representing alongside their male counterparts). Most used the same coaches, the same bus, the same time commitment from coaches. Weve seen mens collegiate running axed for more than a decade because of a lack of balls to take on this issue in the name of sports. Nice job, boys (ADs). Some dynamic, strong attorney with a strong spine and an undying commitment to justice and equality should take on this cause. america.aljazeera/features/2014/3/men-s-running.html
