This is such a mind blowing fact that I came across today. For all the Harry Potter fans out there! J.K Rowling is an amazing woman. The very first thing Snape says to Harry Potter is this. Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood? This is actually the Victorian Language of Flowers, and when translated, it reads: I bitterly regret Lilys death Snapes very first words to Harry were an apology. According to Victorian Flower Language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning ‘My regrets follow you to the grave’ and wormwood means ‘absence’ and also typically symbolized bitter sorrow. If you combine that, it means ‘I bitterly regret Lily’s death’. WOAH! #mindblown!
