This is such an extraordinary time of year in NW Ohio - exhilarating and exhausting, with the biggest bird festival on the continent starting right here at dawn tomorrow. Kimberly is amazing in this situation, staying so focused through all the intense weeks leading up to this and then through the ten days of the festival itself. Im not working at her level but Im approaching the same levels of sleep deprivation - if you think Im incoherent now, just wait! This event drains a lot out of us, but it does such incredible things for public education and bird conservation that I am proud to be among the many volunteers involved.
