This is such shocking and sad sad news. Robbo was on my first ever tour with Richmond when I guested in the Channel Islands for the Deerstalkers (some 20 years ago!) where I was given the tour name of "CLK" at Gatwick airport (for reasons that do not warrant sharing...). This was at the time where there was still offside in hockey and Robbo used his pace wisely at sweeper by adopting the "two paces forward" method of trapping the centre forward or winger rather than chase him all over the place. I make no comment as to the success of this tactic - all I will say is that I had plenty of one-on-one practice!!!! Robbo is also remembered for being on the Ball committee for at least one or two fabulous summer events at the Hurlingham club, and did not worry about seeking to break even over a damn fine event!! Robbo you will be missed, may you make good umpiring decisions where you are and may there be good ale close at hand Pagey
