This is the Bitter Sweet Tail of SPOTZ. Anyone who has been to visit us at Heathlawn cattery will have met Spotz. Spotz has been with us for years and one of the catteries elders. A gentle giant of a gentleman, always kind, funny and quite in his ways. Sadly being older and quite often works against some of our longterm cats and they get overlooked time and time again. BUT we never give up and belive every cat will have its day. We wrote several posts for Spotz and on our last one we hit gold and Spotz was finally offered a home. Not just any home ,a lovely home in the country with loads of space. A very patient, understanding owner who knew the time and work Spotz would take and wanted to help and Betty Bo another Heathlawn cat for company. To say we were delight would be insane we were crazy happy for him. Several visits were made to meet Spotz and finally we brought him to his new home. The initial nerves at such a huge move finally began to subside and we all thought we were making great progress. Sadly after weeks of trying, love, time, treats and Betty Bo doing her bit to help to it was getting to much for Spotz. The initially curiousity of a home had worn off for Spotz and he was becoming very stressed and unhappy. We talked to his new owner and we could tell how upset she was for him but so wanted to keep trying to help him. Spotz made the choice himself a few days ago and we knew the time had come to bring him HOME. Home to Heathlawn and to us his family . Spotz will live out the rest of his days with us. He will sleep in the high beds, run along the tops and greet all the new arrivals in the coming months and years. SPOTZ story is so Bitter Sweet because he finally got his home. His wonderful home he had waited so long for. Sadly the wait was to long for Spotz and he wasnt able for the change he wasnt able to adjust to a new life, Tonight he is happily curled up at Heathlawn BUT at least we know now he had his chance. For that we will always thank you Natasha we know how hard you tried.
