This is the Meeting summary from 9-12-2013 put together by Garnet Aanenson: McIntosh 125th Anniversary/All School Reunion There was a meeting of the officers and members of the Anniversary committees on Thursday evening. Chairman, Russ Horacek, stressed that everyone should have a positive attitude and all work for a common goal of making this Anniversary a success. The VFW Post #6891 has given a $250 donation for the 3-State Viet Nam Memorial that will be displayed by the Army Tank in Roholt Park during the Anniversary. There is also an Iraqi and Afghanistan War memorial that will probably be available for this event. Report was given about the 5K Run/Walk to be held on Saturday, September 21, at Erickson Park in McIntosh with registration beginning at 8 a.m. There are 27 people signed up for this event and more are encouraged to register with Teresa Syverson, City Clerk, or Wanda Stordahl. The Anniversary Parade has been changed to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 5th. The Alumni Banquet will be held beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, July 4th at the McIntosh Centennial Building. Robin Shimpa gave a report about the Heritage Center. They are working very hard so that part of the school will be accessible for the Anniversary. They will be looking for residents to lend antiques or history items. They suggested that open-air tents could be erected on the School lawn for visitors to have a place to sit and visit. The Heritage Center also announced their 3rd Anniversary of the Old Settlers Festival to be held on October 26, 2013 with all proceeds going to the McIntosh 125th Anniversary. The All-School Committee is busy trying to get Alumni name and addresses correct so that the All-School Reunion letter will get addressed to the right person and address. The Committee is looking for names and addresses from the McIntosh-Winger and Win-E-Mac School alumni. They are again asking parents, sisters, brothers, alumni, etc. to furnish the addresses of their families to Jean Schleicher McCabe, Bjella Building, McIntosh, MN 56556 so that the list will be correct. Suggestions were made that all businesses in McIntosh should have some kind of flowers outside their business during the celebration. Thanks to everyone who attended!! :) Good Luck & Happy Planning!
